Hi I'm Karol

I'm a Mormon and I'm also a wife and mother. My ancestors emigrated to the United States from Germany and England.

About Me

My husband and I have four married children and eleven grandchildren. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and attended college studying art and graphic design. Since I never graduated from college when I was a young adult, I went back to school when my youngest was in high school. I thoroughly enjoyed being the oldest in the classes and learning so much and putting the things I learned into practice. Even though I did grow up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints I had to find out for myself if the things that I had been taught were indeed true. I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible and prayed for an answer to that question and received that confirmation.

Why I am a Mormon

Upon reading the Book of Mormon I accepted the challenge in the last chapter of the book. I prayed and asked if the things that I had read were true. I received such a warm and comforting feeling that I had no doubt that these things are true. The Book of Mormon is marvelous, it can help us to deal with the trials and challenges that we face in this day even though it was originally written 2,000 years ago. That in itself says to me that it is true. If you have questions about something it is best to go to the source and find out for yourself about it rather than rely on someone else's opinion. Because of the Book of Mormon I understand why I am here on the earth and what I must do to return and live with my Heavenly Father some day. I know that this life is not the end of existence, but that we can go on and can be with our loved ones again if we live as Christ taught us. We are here to learn to be better people and this life is the perfect place to do that learning. We all have challenges and how we deal with those challenges makes us who we will become.

How I live my faith

Because of the conversion that I had while I was a young woman I felt that I had something to share with others. I served a mission for the Church in New Zealand. Now 43 years later my husband and I are again going on a mission, this time together. I have been teaching an adult Sunday School class in which we study the scriptures, when you attempt to teach others you really learn more yourself. I have worked in a women's organization, served as President of the Children's Justice Center in our community, President of the Chamber of Commerce and managed a Hallmark store. Recently my husband and I owned and operated an assisted living center where we took care of the elderly. We got to know and love many many people who were in need of assistance during the "golden" years. We sold that business a year ago and have been preparing to go for two years to serve in another part of the country. We look forward to meeting and serving others and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.
