Hi I'm Alex

I windsurf, ski, mountain bike, rock climb, and am a full-time adventurer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am passionate about adventure and having fun. I love to be in the outdoors on my mountain bike, skis, windsurf board, or dirt bike. I am currently a college student studying therapeutic recreation. I was just called on a full time mission to Cusco Peru. I love to read and have read many of the great books in this world. But out of all of these there is not a book more beloved or true than The Book of Mormon. I know it is true. It is the basis of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. There have been times in my life where I have not followed the teachings of this gospel and although there was a short time when I thought myself blissfully free I was in reality in a dark and lonely place. Living the teachings of Jesus Christ helps me become a better person and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in a way that makes other people want to be a part of it. I am very strongly against telling other people they are "wrong". Rather, I try to live my life in a way that shows people that I am happy. Most of my friends are not members of this church and so I have developed a strong love for all types of people; no matter what their situation is.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Mormon's perspective on the purpose of life is a joyful one. Our purpose to coming to this earth is to develop lasting and meaningful relationships; especially family ones. We are to live in a way that will enable us to do this; which means following the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are also here to gain physical bodies and to experience life in its entirety; sadness, joy, love, heartbreak. Our experiences here will shape us and if we diligently follow the commandments of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father we will become the best possible version of ourselves. Show more Show less
