Hi I'm Chris

I live in Adelaide, I love gardening and attempting to repair anything. I am a Mormon and I love my life.

About Me

I love to buy second hand model trains and try to repair them, I am also a wargamer that plays Warhammer 40k and likewise I enjoy buying second hand models and refurbishing them. I am currently living at home and have learnt how to cook, iron, do laundry, assemble, repair and rebuild computers as well as general household maintenance such as gardening, repairing doors and windows and the like. I also thoroughly enjoy reading preferably sci fi novels or ancient history but I even read romance novels from time to time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have chosen to remain in it not only because of my belief in the Latter day saint faith but also because of the help that my family and I received when we were in dire need. Ever since then I have always tried my best to help those in need because when no one helped us even within our own family it was the church that helped us. Equally important is the morals that are taught to us from when we are inducted into the church, not smoking, no consumption of alcohol, not using drugs or immoral relations. Through my life I was mocked because I adhered to these rules as in the worlds eye there's nothing wrong with them and so I was mainly an outcast that said I did also make several friends who respected that choice and found it an amazing thing that i could do so. By being taught these morals and living them I avoided many pitfalls, the financial drain as well as not developing health problems or getting a woman pregnant outside of marriage. I still believe today that avoiding these vices has only benefited my life despite the mockery I received for it and I have the teachings of the church to thank for it.

How I live my faith

I am soon to be serving the Fijian people as a missionary to which I greatly look forward to as I prefer to serve others that I might better myself in my own eyes, while teaching the message of the lord is our goal I myself prefer to help others through acts of service (you know helping to clean up a yard, building something, moving house, etc) as when I talk I rarely make sense. I believe that whether or not I am liked for it I strive to always be truthful with others, make no mistake I still lie without even thinking sometimes but I am only human after all I still make mistakes and wrong choices it's how I make up for those misdeeds that is important. If I had to sum up how I would live my life it be with two simple phrases neither of which belongs to the church but both which I feel are appropriate I quote them now as, 1. "Deeds not words are the speech of angels" 2. "Small steps corrupt, small steps redeem" In all honesty I have along way to go before I would consider myself an exemplar of a latter day saint but I believe without doubt that this church is true and though it's members like all humans are imperfect that only gives us something to aim for.
