Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in a small town in California. I love sports...I coach wrestling.. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Born in Porterville, California... Graduated from Porterville High School in 1968, where I was active in Football, wrestling and track. Involved in student government. Earned an Eagle Scout award at age 14. Attended BYU and Porterville College. Wrestled at Porterville College and won the Central California JC wrestling title. Served a mission to Germany West (Frankfurt) from 1969-1971. Married with 5 children. Served as Bishop in Lindsay, California. Love to coach wrestling and other sports.. love being involved with the youth of the church... my wife and I are looking forward to serving a mission together. We have now received a mission call and will be serving in the Charleston, West Virginia Mission.(July 7, 2014.) Our lives have truly been blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I suppose I always had a testimony of Jesus Christ, but as a youth I relied on others testimonies. I decided to "stand on my own" and not rely on others light. Through study and prayer I soon gained a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that the things I had been taught were true. From one answer to another, Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was a prophet, the Book of Mormon is true, the atonement is real, tithing is a true principle, and many more truths continue to add to my individual testimony. Conversion is a continuous process.

How I live my faith

I love being involved with the youth of the church, and school. Coaching is fun. I love to see our youth succeed and achieve.
