Hi I'm JAMES ( Jim ) SMITH

Originally from Ellwood City, Pennsylvania and not knowing my true purpose in life, I was becoming a bitter man & needed change.

About Me

I grew up Presbyterian, in an old run down steel town called Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. When I came to Utah May 16, 2005 I was working for a Company called Masonry Arts, which was sub-contracted to set the stone in the Windows at the Zion's Bank Building across from Temple Square and the Joseph Smith Building. I was working on masking a section of window pane on the 16th floor of the Zion's Bank, when i looked across the way to the roof of the Joseph Smith Building and asked the Contractor, " Is that where the Mormon Pope lives ?". and looking down at Temple Square were all these Protesters, I remember thinking to myself, " They ( The Mormons ) must be doing something right because look how Satan is trying so hard to discredit the Mormon beliefs, upon studying the History of the Temple and Mormon's in general, I knew in my heart, that Mormon's was the Religion for me. Three years after completing the assignment with Masonry Arts, the Company packed up and went back to Bessemer, Alabama. I decided to remain in Utah, during a time period of Homelessness, I went to work At Deseret Industries, In the mattress Plant, I found myself being blessed with a more accurate account of a work ethic, I worked my way up to Mattress Bagger II. and was told i was the first person to accel at Mattress Bagging in more than a decade. At Deseret Industries, we had Chapel Service every wednesday morning, and Prayer. I loved the fact I was in such a Christian atmosphere.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because i feel it is right and am comfortable being mormon, It gives be a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose and service to others, through sharing my faith. Rather than looking for Love I chose to be more Loving, and I have found People come up to me to inquire why I'm so happy and I share with them the Book of Mormon, I have People always coming up to me for a copy, I try to direct them to the appropriate Missionaries and in the meantime you will see me going to the D.I. once a week buying used copies of the book of Mormon to hand out to all those who ask me for it.

How I live my faith

Since my Baptism, Confirmation and now a Melchizedek Priesthood holder, I study the Scriptures Daily following Prayer and testify to everyone who want's to hear how the Atonement made such an impact on my life.
