Hi I'm Aaron Kennedy

I'm an amatuer sports writer, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports, I've done baseball, tennis, track and the best of all: football. Football is my favorite, and I had a blast doing it, even though I was one of the smallest kids on the team, but I did my best! Not only do I love playing football, but I love studying it. A lot of people told me I should be a sports writer, so one day when I was almost dead from boredom I wrote a piece and a put it on a football blog and people loved it! So, I kept writing, and people kept telling me how much they liked it! I went to Weber State for a semester and took some fun classes, like Billiards. Yes, there was a test. One of the questions was "Who invented basketball?" I didn't know, so to be funny I put Michael Jordon. I got it wrong. But I did get extra credit for spelling Albequerke right! (Albeqerke, Albeqerqe, Albekerkie, huh, guess I forgot how to spell it... I also like having fun and doing crazy things, like going on adventures in my amazing Jeep Wrangler. I've had many experiences with that Jeep, such as meeting semi-pro athletes, being harassed by creepy old people, and bringing that Jeep back from the dead with only a knife, plyers, and some baking soda.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a curious person, so I was always looking for answers. Some of it was stupid stuff, like what cheese is best. But with other things, like what I should do in life, I was always able to find those through reading scriptures and prayer. I have been doing that for years now, and the more I do that, the more I see the truth in this gospel. I don't see it as a nice philosophy or another religous belief, I know that what this church teaches is actual truth and can help everyone.

How I live my faith

I did a lot to help out the youth when when I was younger, like serving in leadership positions. I'm also going to be serving an LDS mission soon (or if you're reading this after January 23, 2013, I am on a mission!) I was called to serve in the Canada, Vancouver mission, and am preparing to teach in the Korean language! Yep, you read that right!

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Aaron Kennedy
The Church of Jesus Chist of Latter Day Saints does things all over the world to help out. The Leaders of our church gave an official answer, which talks about how we help distribute food, help with naturaly disasters, and also help people find employment. However, those are only "official" things. Members do all sorts of little things in their own neighborhoods. It could be anything from yardwork to helping move in or out of houses, as well as other small acts of kindness, like helping babysit kids or making dinners for people who are in need of some help. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Aaron Kennedy
We only worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We see him as a prophet, just as Moses, Noah, Abraham, and other Biblical prophets were. We greatly respect him and love him for his service to this world. We believe his calling as a prophet came from God, and so as much as we love him, our love is even greater for God. What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Aaron Kennedy
Well, I'm a missionary right now, so I feel my answer is pretty accurate! We talk about what we usually tell people when we meet them on the street or on their doorstep: We have a message that can bless your life. We don't ask for anything, not for money or food, just some time to talk with you. We typically start of by introducing ourselves and talk a little about how our church started. We don't have a script of what we'll say, we do our best to help out YOU, as an individual. We do our best to be polite and friendly, and rarley do we stay for over an hour, we don't want to take up too much of your time. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Aaron Kennedy
Of Course we do! It only makes sense that we read a book that talks about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, who our church is centered on! The Book of Mormon actually talks about the Bible: talks about the bible being written, speaks of how the Apostle John will write about the Second coming of our Saviour, and has a few chapters from Isaiah. The Book of Mormon supports the Bible, providing ANOTHER testemant of Jesus Christ Show more Show less
