Hi I'm Bruce

I love Jesus, I'm a missionary in the VRM, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

As i said before I'm 19, and just about to leave on my mission. I've spent most of my life here in the Puget Sound. I was born here, I lived in Florida for three or four years as a kid, and I've been back home here for about ten years. My favorite thing to do is be active and play sports. I played basketball, golf and tennis in high school, but I love doing anything athletic. When I'm not doing those things I like to fill my time with mechanical projects. I've rebuilt several jet skis, go carts, motorcycles and cars and sold them for a profit. I just love working with my hands and staying busy. Something that not a lot of people know about me is that I am a very musical person. I love to sing, play the piano, and I;m picking up the guitar right now. i love how music helps me express feelings, and feel the spirit. I am the third oldest of four kids, the oldest boy. My two big sisters are in their mid twenties and both married, one is active in the church. My little brother and I are the only ones left at home, and its soon to be just him. He's 15. I love spending time with my family. We like to go out to movies and out to eat, but usually we just watch tv at home most evenings. I'm very close with my friends also, we like to play basketball and board games, and just be together. In summary I love to laugh, play sports, work with my hands and be with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to not think about why I am a Mormon. My parents were Mormon, my big sisters were Mormon, so I was Mormon too. When you're little what choice do you have right? It wasn't until my later teen years, 15 or 16, that I even thought about it. That was the time that I started to see the more difficult side of life, I had to stop coasting and make some decisions about what kind of person I was going to be. I actually had a little bit of depression in these years, just from being overwhelmed about how hard life was getting. In these darker times I realized the importance of having a relationship with my father in heaven. Having that close relationship made my relationships less contentious, gave me confidence, and gave me hope, and a better outlook on life because I knew my purpose on this earth. I knew why I was here, and that made it easy to get perspective and decide the kind of person I wanted to be, and what choices I needed to make to get there. As I've grown up I look back on that turning point and feel nothing but gratitude to my father in heaven for carrying me through that time, and so many hard times since. That coupled with all the blessings that I've been given, like the atonement, and my family, and this world to live in with all of its beauty, just humbles me to the point of tears. Knowing all this I can't possibly go on living without doing everything I can to please my heavenly father, and serve him by serving others. And being a part of this church is the best way to do that. And that's why I'm a Mormon

How I live my faith

I preach the gospel every day! My life is consecrated to the Lord, I do what he wants done. I seek his will in prayer and do my best to follow the spirit. I love inviting others to come unto Christ and watching their lives change as they take the hard but necessary steps to become a disciple. I am not ashamed of what I believe and what my desires are!
