Hi I'm Laura

I am a joke collector. I am a ballroom dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student and I love it. I love to meet new people and to get involved. I also enjoy ballroom dancing. I am on a ballroom team and teach classes as opportunities arise. I love to eat. I love to sleep... and I especially love to LAUGH.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. I know that it is the only church with all of the truth necessary to live with God after this life. I am a Mormon because this gospel is my foundation and my light. Without it, I would be lost. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he helped restore the gospel back onto this earth. I am a Mormon because I am witnessed of the truthfulness of this gospel everyday. It brings me closer to my Savior and it brings peace into my life. This gospel means the world to me. It means I can live with my family forever. It means I can make right my wrongs. It means I can always live with the knowledge that there is hope.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through example. I believe in gladness. I believe that as I choose to be glad everyday, others see that. They ask me and I tell them. I am glad because I know who I am. I know that I am a child of God and that I have been given a wonderful life. I am glad because I love my Savior and I know that He loves me. I am glad because I have a family who loves me. I am glad because I am healthy. I am glad because I choose to be glad. I also live my faith through service. Someone not of my faith once told me that she was very impressed by how service oriented this church is. That has stuck with me and I strive to be one of those examples in the church. Plato said, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." I know that I am not the only one on this earth. I know that simple kind acts of service can be the sunshine that people need. I know that good people bring out the good in other people and I want to be a good person. Scripture study is a huge part of how I live my faith. I know that as I study from the Book of Mormon everyday, I am blessed. My family had family scripture study every night and I plan on doing the same when I have a family of my own.
