Hi I'm Amara

I was born and raised in southern California. I am a wife and mother just taking each day as it comes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have loved cooking for several years and was applying for the Art Institute of San Diego Culinary program when I met the love of my life. Plans for school were put on hold when we decided to get married and I moved out of state so he could finish his bachelors degree in Chinese and Business. One week after our first marriage anniversary we welcomed a baby girl into our lives. Although being a parent is both a reward and a challenge, I can't and do not want to imagine a life without her. I live in San Diego as of right now but will possibly be moving to China in the near future. Right now I am just taking things as they come- one day at a time!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and never questioned my faith until I reached my teenage years and faced certain challenges and that have molded me and made me stronger today. Because I faced those challenges it forced me to ask myself who I was and what I believed in, not just the Mormon Religion but even the belief in a Higher Power. My Bishop helped me to open my heart to the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ; That He felt/feels all of our pains and hates for us to suffer. The atonement brought peace to my life as I returned to church and felt the love of our Heavenly Father and Savior not only in my heart, but through the kind, welcoming smiles and support of those surrounding me. I know we are children of God. I know the immeasurable love that I have for my own daughter, and the love He has for us as His children is magnified even more than we can fathom. He may not take away all of our burdens, but He will make us strong enough to bare them if we remain faithful and diligent.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday and my husband and I have the privilege of teaching Sunday School to a group of high schoolers. Even though we are their teachers, I have a feeling we are the ones who will be learning a lot more from them!
