Hi I'm Becca

I love my family! I have the travel bug. I love being a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Orem, Utah! I love the outdoors, and spend my summers hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. My family loves to travel, and we have visited over 20 different countries. I am a student studying genetics and psychology. I want to go to graduate school to become a genetic counselor. I love the sciences and continue to take all the classes I can to learn about the world around me. I had the unique opportunity to study abroad in Vienna, Austria and learned to speak German and studied music and art and politics. Music has been a huge part of my life, and I have played the piano for over 14 years. I love to sing, and am still learning to play the guitar. I am an art enthusiast, and love art in all its forms. I am currently serving as an LDS missionary in the Massachusetts, Boston Spanish speaking mission, and I love it! My absolute favorite hobby is snorkeling with my family, and my biggest dream is to dive the Great Barrier Reef in Australia someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I grew up in the church, but I have still come to know for myself that my relationship with my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ is the most important thing in this world. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father, God, who knows and loves each of his children in a very intimate and personal way. I know that my Savior lives, and that He atoned for our sins. He is the sole way that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father, and I am so grateful for his love and his sacrifice for me. I know that God loves us enough that he restored the full truth of the gospel and the Book of Mormon through the prophet Joseph Smith. It is Christ's church: the church established on this earth by Christ himself many years ago. I have seen the influence and love of God in my life, and am continuing to learn and grow in my knowledge every day through the holy Scriptures. This gospel is amazing, and brings me happiness every day of my life. As a missionary, I see how this knowledge and this message changes lives. It has certainly changed mine, and will continue to help me learn and progress throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary, so I am teaching the gospel full-time for 18 months, participating in community service and helping the people of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts in any way I can! Before my mission, I did a variety of things to serve in the church. One of the best experiences of my life was serving as a special needs youth counselor for my home stake, which I did for over a year. I worked with people ages 12-65 once a week who had intellectual and physical handicaps of all kinds. We planned activities, organized events, and met together once a week to have some fun and talk about the gospel. I've served as a music coordinator, a teacher, and an organizer for a youth event we have every year called youth conference.
