Hi I'm Mckenna

I love my family. I burn myself regularly making brownies. I love life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from good old Idaho. I have three siblings and good parents. I recently returned from an LDS mission in the Philippines, which I loved, and where I served for 18 months. Now that I'm home, I'm going to school, and pursuing a degree in biochemistry (hopefully pre-pharmeceutical). I love to dance and take Pointe classes at school. I dance whenever I get a chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's the best way to live. Nothing gives me more perspective than the church and its leaders. Life is hard, and confusing. The world is changing so fast and people are grasping at where to find answers and what is "valuable," and God can give that to us. We can't create values, but God has explained them to us. I am impossibly far from being as good as I want to be. But this Gospel gives me comfort. And it answers a lot of my questions. God speaks to us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what I believe is right. I'm trying to be nice to people and keep the commandments, and get good grades and stay active in church and do all those good things. I believe in repentance, and using it. Daily, I try to do good. I am also researching my family history to find my ancestors and connect with them. It has been a huge blessing to understand what roots I come from and who my family really is. It has changed my perspective and made me so grateful for my roots.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mckenna
Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. Just like Moses or Abraham, Joseph is the first prophet of a dispensation - our dispensation (These are times when the gospel has been lost, and our Heavenly Father needs a Prophet to restore it)!! He was called of God to restore the fullness of His gospel back onto the Earth. He sacrificed his livelihood and lifestyle and everything else to serve as a prophet of God. We are grateful for him, and honor his faith and diligence in restoring the gospel - just as we do the other prophets. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Mckenna
We perform baptisms for the dead because we know that no man can enter the kingdom of God without baptism, and we want everyone to have the chance! Proxy work allows these people to choose, who have died without the ordinance. We believe that we have correct authority from God to perform this ordinance and help others come closer to returning with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
