Hi I'm Simon

I like reading, writing fictional stories, listen to music and video-gaming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in the Caribbean. Right now I'm on my mission in Norway. My favourite genres to: Write: Action; adventure; sci-fi, (mostly) Read: Adventure; action; sci-fi; modern; fantasy; thriller, (mostly) Game: Shooters; RPGs; Parkour Music: There's hardly anything I don't listen too. To me what mostly counts is the song more so than the specific genre. However I tend to like more than others: Metal; Christian rock; symphonic; grunge, hard rock. These are just some. There's tons of OSTs from anime, movies, games and other TV series, that I don't mind spending some time listening to while doing something productive on the sideline. I'm on several writers forums online, as well as artsy forums (tell me if you want to know which ones and how you can find me there). I'm the second of three, and serving a mission at home, so to speak, in Norway. It's an interesting thing to get to experience my home this way. My dad told me, after I got my call letter, that I have family all over the country, and so far I've met a few, but I look forward to meeting the rest. Out here I've come to realize how much I've been taking for granted, and I'll definitely make a change in a few things when it's over in 15 months.

Why I am a Mormon

Mainly what keeps me, I think, would be the examples that my parents are to me. At least that's a big part. I still work on figuring out many aspects of the gospel, my own life, and at times I look around me and because I'm still "young in the faith" I have my worries and doubts now and then, because isn't perfect even as an LDS. But what also keeps me going would be the hope that this is true. a href="http://mormon.org/me/BHJ1/" img src="//edge.mormoncdn.org/bc/assets/img/profile/share/badge-im-a-mormon-orange.png" alt="I'm a Mormon." /a

How I live my faith

I have had some minor leading tasks, and I just finished as assistant secretary of the Stavanger District before it became part of the second stake of Norway (Drammen Stake). Now I serve a full-time mission in the Oslo Norway Mission, teaching these Americans some proper language (take that for what you will).

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Some, as I understand it, may use the expression 'cult' as they point to some organization or organized activity - preferably religious - that they do not understand. Show more Show less
