Hi I'm Taylor Byers

I'm addicted to family history, an outdoor enthusiast and currently a missionary in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Growing up I was dubbed 'lightbulb' for my contagious smile. I am #3 of 6 kids and have four amazing brothers and a little sister! I love sports, especially golf and all things outdoors. I love game nights with my family- we all get pretty competitive and are each other's best friends. I believe in laughing til your stomach hurts. Smiling in the sun. Doing something a little crazy. Having a tasty warm brownie. I love people and spending time with everyone! I attended BYU before serving a mission and I'll go back afterwards. I love being a missionary! It's the best!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church, but to be honest, I did not have a full belief in this gospel until I was about 16. Prior to that time, I would do what I was expected to- but found myself going through the motions. It wasn't until I was asked to do Family History that everything changed for me. I found myself searching for ancestors and this surge of energy continued to run throughout of my body. I could not get enough of finding more about my family. I found a greater purpose to my life as I spent some time on Family Search. I began asking myself questions about the gospel and studying them out in the scriptures and praying more fervently and sincerely. Family History softened my heart enough for me to receive an answer of whether or not this gospel is true. Consequently, I came to know for myself and have been led to experience a terrific amount of joy and purpose. I feel like everything makes so much more sense with Christ's Gospel. I feel like I can totally be myself and continually improve. I feel of Heavenly Father's love for me and the knowledge that He DOES have a plan for me. :)

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving a full-time mission for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But aside from the daily routine of being a missionary- I feel a greater sense to be a disciple of Christ at all times. Whether that is something small like smiling and saying ""Hi!" to a stranger that walks by or one that requires a little more thought. I always look for ways to take a specific scenario or experience and apply it to the Gospel. I feel as if we've been given everything so we can become a little bit better everyday. I am far from perfect, but I try to do all that I can each day and give my best effort to be a disciple of Christ, and represent Him.
