Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a teenager I loved playing softball I remember being involved in a triple play. (We still lost the game.) I also loved working on cars. My friend Bob had a new 1970 Plymouth Cuda with a 440 CI engine, a Six pack Holley carburator, and many many speed accessories. (Including High Compression Battery Caps) lol This was strictly a track car. What great times I had before college. At college I met my wife of 39 years. and needless to say my priorities changed. I opened up a plumbing business in 1979 after 12 years I deceided to close my business. In 1994 I got a job working as a plumbing and mechanical inspector for the City. I have six children (adults now) which have been the pride of my life and some of the greatest sorrow I have felt. Such is life

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so I was exposed to the teachings of Jesus at an early age, I didn't question my families religion it just felt right. When I deceided to go on a mission and share my testimony of Jesus Christ and that we have a living prophet of God right here and right now that I needed to learn more. On my mission I attended many other religions and learned alot of additional information from people investigating multiple religions and the questions they had. In my mind I came to the conclusion that having living prophets testifying of Jesus Christ and guiding us in what have us do today was paramount in having a completeness in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith. my witness did not come immediately but I continued praying and one evening as I was saying my evening prayer it was like a great peace came over me and I just knew that all I had been asking was true. This feeling was so peaceful it just made me feel like sharing with everyone that my Savior lives and has called a prophet to lead and guide us in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one minute, one hour, one day at a time. It is constantly changing (the degree of my faith) as I re-read the scriptures and learn more I strive to do better. When I see someone in need I try to help. The sad thing is sometimes I don't, I come up short on following Jesus Christ and being like Him. With repentance I am able to get back on the path Jesus has shown us. I have had the opportunity of working with the youth for over 30 years in the Boy Scouting programs and today I'm teaching a sunday school class a the state prision. I have found living my faith is centering my life on Jesus Christ and enjoying the journey.
