Hi I'm Trish Brogdon

I was born and raised in a small town. I study journalism at Chico State. I'm a (new) Mormon.

About Me

I'm studying journalism at CSU Chico right now and my emphasis is in Public Relations. I'd love to work for the church someday. I love hanging out with friends and going to the movies. People tell me i'm funny, which is pretty much the best compliment ever!

Why I am a Mormon

The town i grew up in had a significant LDS population, but that didn't really phase me. I didn't know anything about the church until i decided to do a project on it for college. I lost my Mom two years ago to cancer and have had a lot of hurt in my heart since then. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, ones that i thought i could never be forgiven for. Joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has changed my outlook on life in ways i couldn't have imagined. I'm a better person because of Heavenly Father, and i can't imagine where i'd be without Christ's atonement. Mormon.org helped me find the church in a huge way. I needed information about my project, but ended up talking to an amazing Missionary on the chat portion of the site. I spent some time after our talk looking at Mormon videos on LDS.org. It was such an amazing experience, and by the next week i had agreed to get baptized. I am so blessed that Heavenly Father guided me to this choice. I have a testimony that church is true and that the gospel is true. Having this testimony changed my life and i can't wait for it to change the lives of my future children. This church is truly for everyone from all walks of life and from even the darkest pasts. I encourage you to chat with a Mormon or request Missionaries to visit you. It will indeed change your life. I say these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

How I live my faith

I love attending church on Sunday! Sacrament meetings are the best! It's an opportunity to strengthen the covenants you make with Heavenly Father during baptism. You also get to sing awesome hymns and hear other member's bear their testimonies. It is an amazing and sacred time spent with God. I also strengthen my faith by scripture reading and watching Mormon Messages videos. I can feel the Holy Spirit when i do these things and it's a feeling i never want to lose. I've recently received my first callings in my YSA Branch! I'm working my hardest to be the best bulletin designer and materials librarian that i can be! I know these acts of service will bring me even closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ!

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Trish Brogdon
Yes! Jesus did visit his "other sheep" as He said He would in John 10:16. In The Book of Mormon the Nephites are given an opportunity to be healed by Christ and were taught how to take the Sacrament. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Trish Brogdon
We don't worship Joseph Smith at all. As Mormons we admire and respect President Smith as the Prophet who was given the keys to restore the gospel. Show more Show less
