Hi I'm Cheyanna

I'm a small town country girl that loves sports, playing board games with my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very active family. We are always doing something! Sports, farming, 4-H, dancing, talking, gaming, driving, hiking (ok...maybe rarely...), and whatever else we can come up with. We are kind of spontaneous. My family definitely doesn't like being bored and I am definitely not an exception! I love being active! Volleyball, basketball, swimming, wakeboarding, snowboarding, running, laughing, walking, swinging, dancing, singing, watching, playing, just ANYTHING wholesome and fun =) I am definitely a lover of life. I truly believe that if we reach for the stars, God will help us strap on some rocket boots if we have the faith =) Our destination may not be what we thought it was, but if we just trust Him it's gonna be a whole lot better than we ever imagined! I definitely didn't appreciate my family growing up, but now I am pretty sure they get sick of how much I tell them I love them! I am just so grateful because I am truly blessed. I want everyone to know about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it brings an infinite amount of (key word) LASTING joy and peace to my life and I know it would do the same to anyone else.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because without this gospel knowledge, I feel no purpose. I have lived half of my life without an active part in this Church because I didn't particularly feel that I needed to be a part of it. As I began to allow the gospel to work within me I have progressively gotten better. Everything seems to have gotten better. I could say that that is a coincidence, but I know that it isn't. When I became a more active member, life just seemed more positive. There was always something to look forward to. I can see the beauty in everyday. I can get down on my knees and know someone is there listening. I can always speak my thoughts and know in my heart that my God knows all and knows everything that I am going through. My trials seem really small compared to what others may go through, but He cares about me just the same. He understands and has compassion on me. I know that this is the true restored Church and as I keep allowing the Spirit to grow stronger and it's influence to grow stronger in my life, I become closer to Him and my knowledge grows and I am blessed immensely. I have truly become a "new creature" because of the gospel. I am slower to anger, quicker to forgive, more alert to the needs of others, and just more loving in general. I honestly feel like a good person and that feeling gives me great happiness and satisfaction. I know that I can keep improving with His help and I know that He believes in me and loves me. I am so grateful for the gospel and I hope that everyone might find the happiness and peace that I can find through it.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I visit others my age and check up on them and make sure that they are doing alright. I also do service projects to help clean up my town and area. I was a "mother" for a group of women and men my age so I would organize "family" activities and just help make the college experience easier and funner. However, in New Jersey I am now a missionary and strive to bring others to the fullness of the gospel and try to serve them and help them see how the gospel strengthens families and brings a great amount of light into my life.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The Mormon lifestyle is not so different and strange as some might think. We strive to be closer to our Heavenly Father and to find joy and happiness in life. We do this by going to church every Sunday, reading and studying our scriptures every day, and saying morning and nightly prayers. We strive to follow God's plan for us, known as the plan of happiness, which focuses a lot of the family. We try to have good family relations and spend time with our family because the family can be a fantastic source of strength in this life. We strive to live by the Lord's "law" (Proverbs 29:18) and the gospel of Jesus Christ. We follow in our Savior's footsteps and through this we become a joyful people who serve others, contribute to society, and also try to bring others the gospel so that they may feel that same joy and happiness that we do. We do have many guidelines and rules that some may consider strict and hard to follow, but these rules and guidelines are blessings because they help us avoid addictions and sadness and sorrow that could have otherwise been avoided.
