Hi I'm Antonio

I'm a happy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I grew up in the small county of Caswell, North Carolina and have lived here basically all my life. I moved once to Rexburg, Idaho to do a semester of school at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Along with my first language of English, I also know some Spanish because my mother is from Peru. I have been called to serve a mission in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church; however, this does not mean I am a member solely because I was born inside of it. I believe everyone must go through a process of conversion- to believe in Jesus Christ and accept what He did for every single soul. For me, this deep conversion took place as a youth inside the church. As I learned more in depth about the gospel, I remembered what I learned as a small primary youngling and took a deeper meaning to it. Some things I learned includes: prayer, reading the scriptures, and following the words of the living prophet. I prayed to know if this church was true or not, and I received an answer- a most definite and big yes. I believe we have a living and true prophet on earth today. I believe that in the times of the Second Great Awakening, a young boy took the courage to seek the truth and that he found it. This boy was Joseph Smith. I believe in his teachings and in the teachings of all the true prophets that have roamed this earth today. I believe in our precious gift we have on earth today- the Book of Mormon. It, along with the bible, is a treasure to bring happiness to the homes of everyone. No matter how hard times get, I know we can always look back and remember we are loved from our family and from our Heavenly Father. I believe in a living priesthood power that has been granted for us on earth today, and that through this priesthood power we can act in the name of the Lord. Without this church, I think I would be lost. I know that the decisions I have made in my life have been through the influence of the teachings of this church. There have been times where I have been tried to be tempted with things, but I chose not to give in because I know that they are not worthy of me. Had I not been a member, I know it would have been easier for me to give into pressure. I love this church, I don't know where my life would take me without it.

How I live my faith

As an LDS member, I attend church weekly and I am currently a primary teacher. I have been called to be a primary teacher twice and to be second assistant to the clerk once. I have enjoyed all of my callings and look forward to serving the Lord in more ways- including being a missionary.
