Hi I'm Eric

I act, I dance, and I yoyo and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished up my first semester of college, which I absolutely loved. However, I have taken two years off of school to serve a mission for my church. I will soon be leaving to Bangkok Thailand where I hope to be able to teach others about the gospel which has so richly blessed my life. I have been blessed with many talents and many opportunities, all of which have strengthened my testimony and love of the gospel and my church. Some of the things I have done include about nine different musicals and plays which have helped me develop my acting skills, I also had the opportunity to help teach a group of about 200 native Chinese students English for two and a half weeks. These are only a few of the great things which have made me who I am. I have learned

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I did not love going to church and I would only go because my parents made me. One day I decided that I would lie to my parents and play sick so that I could play with legos all day instead of going to church. To my great surprise they decided to let me stay. After they left I got right out of bed and had quite a lot of fun playing with my toys with the house to myself. However, the fun didn't last very long and I began to miss my family. I remember crying and being so sorry that I had toBecause I have developed a strong belief in the things I have been taught. I know for myself that God hears and answers prayers and I know that because of my savior Jesus Christ I have the ability to live with my family forever. I believe that everyone should have something to believe in, and I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a son of God and I will never deny him

How I live my faith

I read the book of mormon and I pray everyday. these two simple tasks have given me guidance and spiritual, mental, and even physical strength to carry out the tasks given to me everyday. When I go out with my friends we never participate in any activities that are not in keeping with the standards of the church, and while some may think of these standards as restricting me and my friends all agree that we still have more than enough fun and more importantly we all agree that we are safe from the dangerous addictions and accidents faced by many today. I always attend church and make sure to listen to the lessons and feel the spirit which keeps me motivated to always be my best self and to strive for an even better future.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Eric
As a youth I have seen some of my peers choose to disrespect their bodies. I know many who choose to wear clothing which shows off more than is appropriate. I like girls to look good as much as the next guy, but I hate to see girls think that their bodies are not worth covering up from the prying eyes of unworthy men. They are worth more to their parents and to their heavenly father. I have seen many of my peers who chose to dress immodestly go down paths which have lead to the loss of their virtue. On the other-hand I have seen those girls who have chosen to dress themselves modestly end up happily married to someone who loves them on the inside as much as they do the outside. It is clear to me that good attracts good and evil attracts evil. Those who dress themselves modestly show respect to God who has blessed us with such marvelous bodies. In order to teach this parents must be strict and must teac Show more Show less
