Hi I'm Carol

I live in Salt Lake City and am a Wife, Mom, Grandma and a retired elementary school teacher.

About Me

I love children and music. I taught music to elementary school children for 25 years before recently retiring. I was a stay at home mom for eighteen years when my four children were growing up. Now I have twelve grandchildren ages two to nineteen. I have one natural born child and three adopted children. I feel very blessed to have them in my life. I play the viola with a community orchestra. I also have taught many students to play the violin and viola in my private music studio. I enjoy cooking good healthy food. I also enjoy tending my vegetable and flower garden in the spring, summer and fall.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that we lived with our Heavenly Father before we came to earth and we were sent to earth to experience trials and to grow. I have had my share of trials in life. I almost lost my husband to cancer when I was 24. His illness led us to having to adopt children. After 32 years of marriage my husband left me to join the gay community. It is through my faith that I have been able to be happy and love life. I have received great comfort from Heavenly Father through these difficult times. Without His help I would have gone into depression. Now I have found a new and wonderful husband and have found great joy in life. This church teaches unconditional love. We are to constantly improve ourselves by developing Christ like attributes: Faith, Hope, Charity, Obedience to God's commandments, Virtue and Diligence are a few. I find that in doing these things I have few problems and am happy. Not only do I get to give, but I get to receive this love and kindness from those who I associate with in my church.

How I live my faith

I play the organ for my church services. The hymns bring joy and comfort to me. I enjoy serving this way because music brings the spirit to our meetings. I also love to visit the women in our church. When a new baby is born I enjoy bringing food into the family. Of course I also get to hold the baby. In the past I have had opportunity to head the women's organization in our church. I was able to help the needy who were hungry and comfort those who lost husbands and children due to illness and accidents. I love serving, crying and celebrating life as it comes to me and those around me.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are faithful to God, virtuous, and kind. We love life and care for others. We trust in Jesus Christ and seek for spiritual strength through prayer, scripture study and service to others. We are dedicated to family. We believe that men and women are equal but we are not identical. Heavenly Father loves all of his sons and daughters and wants us all to be happy and have joyful lives.
