Hi I'm Jayme Pickett

I grew up in Utah. I love to play almost every sport & be outdoors. I am very involved in the Rotary Club. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and just graduated with my Associates of Arts. I will be working on receiving my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education upon returning from my mission to Berlin Germany. I love doing service and am very involved in the Rotary Club. I played soccer and basketball, and ran track in high school, but love to play just about any sport there is! I love to hike, bike, swim, cliff jump, and do anything outdoors! I also enjoy playing board games, card games, and any interactive games. My greatest joy in life comes from spending time with my family and friends. I have 2 loving parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 nieces, and 4 nephews with one on the way (as well as a VERY large extended family!). I enjoy working with children and have had jobs at the college preschool, many local elementary schools, and have babysat for multiple families over the years. I plan to teach 5th grade and then be a stay at home mom, (while also continuing to work with the Rotary Club). I love traveling, meeting new people, and making friends where ever I go!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and grew up learning about the scriptures and Heavenly Father's plan for me, but when I became a teenager I truly gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I have had multiple experiences where the love my Heavenly Father has for me has overwhelmed my soul and helped me to see that he has an individual plan for me. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses and helps me grow and develop them a little more each day. The standards and values that I try to uphold help to keep me safe and bring so much joy into my life! I cannot imagine a life without this gospel because it is the reason behind EVERYTHING I do! I know where I came from, why I am here, what I am meant to do, and where I am going. This gospel gives you the key to the map, and helps you navigate through tough and confusing paths you take. I know that the Prophet and Apostles are leading the church through the counsel of Heavenly Father, and I know the Bible and Book of Mormon to be the words of God. When we pray to our Heavenly Father, read our scriptures, and listen to the counsel that our church leaders give us we will find answers to our prayers and have joy brought into our lives! No matter what you have done in the past God loves you and wants you to return to live with him someday and this gospel leads and guides you to Him. You never cease to learn and grow and although life isn't always easy it is worth it, and our rewards will be great if we but endure! I have many loved ones that have passed on and I am comforted with the knowledge that I will not only see them again, but I will have the chance to live with them for eternity. I cannot express in words how much I love this gospel and all of the happiness that it has brought into my life, but I can tell you that I KNOW it is true without a doubt in my mind! I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ so much that I want to follow them and seek the counsel that they have given us this day.

How I live my faith

I strive to always have a positive attitude and build others up and see the good in people. "Service Above Self" is the motto from the Rotary Club that I am apart of, but I honestly believe that when you forget yourself and serve others you are truly the happiest. I am a very busy person and always tend to over pack my schedule, but when I make time to attend all my church meetings and activities and read my scriptures daily things go more smoothly and it all comes together in the end. I know that when we try our best to put the Lord first everything works out for the better and we are blessed! Honesty is a quality that I always uphold and try to be as fair as possible in everything I do, and I encourage others to also do the same. I try my best to go about my day in a way that shows that I have the light of Christ in my life. I want to share that with others so that they can become just as happy or even happier than I am to have this gospel in my life.
