Hi I'm Steven W. Hellyer

So many things.... I play guitar, love Disney, family, laughing and I'M A MORMON!

About Me

I am the second child out of four. I am the happiest when I'm surrounded by loved ones. My summers consisted of adventures; a Tom and Huck kind of living. I was privileged to have a hard working father and mother who loved and raised me in a Christian home. I found my testimony on my knees searching for an answer on how to direct my life. My favorite things to do are: horse back riding, being outdoors, fishing, swimming, spending time with family, making people laugh and of course Disneyland. I love to serve others. I cherish honesty and integrity. I am grateful for Jesus Christ's sacrifice for me. I am also pleased to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me more than I know myself. The companionship of the Holy Ghost is a must for me as well as The Book of Mormon. I am a God fearing man that changes to the will of The Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because if it wasn't for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on earth I would not have the answers to why I'm here, where I am going, or what my purpose is in life. Nothing save it be The Book of Mormon and the Bible combined with modern day revelation and living prophets has the answer. The peace I receive in this faith is an assurance that my Savior lives and that God knows me individually. A quote I love is, "Extraordinary Trials come to those with Extraordinary Destiny's." It is for this reason I am a Mormon. I firmly believe that God doesn't make mistakes. We do have trials and mountains to climb but we are not born imperfect. We actually are born in a imperfect world with a devil that wants to thwart our extraordinary destiny's. Any state of mind, sin, addiction, habits, sorrows, or trials can be worked through, over came, and even cleansed. Broken hearts can be mended. Testimonies can be formed or regained. Lost loved ones we will see again. Sadness, depression and all things can be changed, overcome and supported through Jesus Christ and His everlasting Atonement.

How I live my faith

I look for opportunities to serve others. I love to teach children and adults about Jesus, and tell them stories. I find myself wanting to use my talents to benefit others. I love to socialize with people. If I know of a story or a personal experience I usually find that I am either sharing it to lift another person's spirit or discovering more about myself. I love to laugh. Laughter is for the soul, heart and mind. It allows me to grow closer to the person I am with. It also allows me to be grateful for the simple things of life. My faith is the backbone that keeps me straight. It allows me to grow, change, and lift myself and others. Without my faith i would have no direction in the many paths of life. This is how my faith allows me to live.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Steven W. Hellyer
"6 And ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit, preaching my gospel, two by two, in my name, lifting up your voices as with the sound of a trump, declaring my word like unto angels of God. " 7 And ye shall go forth baptizing with water, saying: Repent ye, repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Doctrine and Covenants 42:6-7 They are trying to follow Heavenly Father by helping our brothers and sisters who do not know about the truth and about how much happiness they can obtain by living it's word. Gods, word never ceased. It continues on through modern day Prophets and Missionaries spread the word to all nation tongues and people. Because, we as members of the church, and our families, have been blessed by abiding and living it's teachings. As we know you and your families will be blessed as well. "11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: "12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it." Amos 8:11-12 This was after Jesus and His Apostles passed away, and The Lord brought back Christ's true teachings through the Prophet Joseph Smith in the 1800's. Ladies and gentleman, brothers and sisters, here it is for you, Christ's true restored church, not reformed, restored. In Jesus name amen. Show more Show less
