Hi I'm Kimber

I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, I have a big family, I love reading and want to travel the world. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a currently going to college at Brigham Young University out in Utah and I am still deciding whether to go into Studio Art or Literature. I'm the big sister of 6 kids and the little sister of 4. I grew up in a house in the woods believing in fairies and knomes. I've always been a succor for a story and hope to wow the world with my words one day. Some of my heroes include, C.S. Lewis, Abraham Lincoln and my Mom. One of my greatest desires is to travel the globe and see all kinds of people and places because I love diversity and believe there is beauty in all things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I know that families are forever. When I was very young I learned a very powerful lesson. My baby sister died at birth and I was taught that I would see her someday, that she was in a safe and wonderful place, and that even though she couldn't be here with us right now she was a part of something very sacred. My eternal family. This tender experience was what drove my young soul to start looking at the sky a little longer, lost in thoughts much bigger than those my schoolmates occupied themselves with. This moment in time was what lead me to stow away a copy of the Book of Mormon to a secret spot in the woods each day to begin a journey with prophets of old. This event in my life stamped the idea that 'Families are Forever' deep into my family's heart. Now I am a 20 year old girl deferring from her sophomore year of college to be a missionary for the LDS church in Sao Paulo Brazil. You may ask me why I would do this, and I could attempt to tell you all my reasons, but if you really want to know, pray, read of Christ, ponder over the words of the Book of Mormon, listen to our modern day prophet, and you won't need to ask me why. You'll know.

How I live my faith

In my ward I have been called to teach the nursery kids. All my little pupils are 3 years and under, and I can honestly say I look forward to our time together each Sunday. We sing songs, we eat snacks, we color pictures and I teach them the simple things. In nursery we learn about Heavenly Father and how he loves us all. We learn about loving our neighbors and sharing, but mostly I learn from them. Nursery can seem like a hectic place on the outside, but I always come away with an even firmer testimony that all children are a blessing.
