Hi I'm Chris Hendershott

Born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Orlando, Florida. Basketball is my game. Currently serving a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to the state of Florida around age 9. At 18, my family decided it was best to return back to St. Louis to be back with family and I'm currently living in St. Louis now and I love it. My mom was a convert to the church when I was around 8 years old, so I have been blessed to have been raised in the gospel basically my whole life. Sports are a big part of my life but basketball is my love as I played in High School and now just play for fun with friends and family. I am also a die hard Cardinals baseball fan. I don't come from a huge family as I only have one younger sister but my family is the biggest blessing in my life and I enjoy being able to spend time with them and doing things that helps us grow closer to each other. I'm currently serving a mission in St. George, Utah and plan on studying meteorology after I return home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised into the Church but I had an experience in my life that that changed me forever. At the age of 11, I was in a house fire and I came minutes away from dying and was in a coma for a week in the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. I walked out of that experience with a greater appreciation for life. I'm so thankful for the gift of life. Enjoy all of the small things that life has to offer and live everyday to it's fullest. That's my motto. I felt Gods love for me firsthand and I want to share that love and eternal truth with everyone. The gospel gives me an eternal perspective and helps me focus on the important things in life. I know without a doubt that this is Christs Church once again on the earth today. I know this Church has the authority to perform ordinances of the Gospel and I can't wait to have a family of my own and be sealed with them forever. I know the Book Of Mormon is true and I know anyone who is searching for truth can find answers to their own lives if you read it with a sincere desire to know if it is true. I know God hears and answers our prayers and will help us through anything in this life. I also know that the atonement is real and when we use it in our lives we can find peace, joy and happiness in this life and also "eternal life in the world to come" (D&C Sec 59:23). I'm very grateful for my Savior and to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love getting the opportunity to share this gospel to everyone because it is for everyone and always will be. The mission has been so far one of the greatest blessings in my life. It has helped me grow and my testimony has for sure been strengthened. I just try to do the best I can to follow Christ everyday in my life because no matter where we're at in life, Jesus Christ was the only person who lived a perfect life and set the example for us on how we should live. We receive his mercy, healing, and grace as we try to follow him the best we can. As I have followed Jesus Christ I have learned so much about charity, patience, and why faith is so important for all of us in life. Being a follower of Christ makes me a better person and what makes me most happy in this life.
