Hi I'm Carson Richards

Born in Colorado with a love of soccer and camping. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Carson, I was born in Colorado but moved to Utah when I was young. I have been involved with sports all of my life, particularly soccer. My vacations are almost all from soccer tournaments I traveled to. When I was young I used to go camping a lot with my family, something I plan to do more of as I grow up. I have hiked to the top of Mt. Timpanogos five time, once I hiked straight up the front and once I have started at midnight and arrived at the top to watch the sunrise.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel and at age eight was baptized and received the Holy Ghost. At this time I was living off much of my parents testimony and didn't have my own testimony for a while. I have been raised in Utah and have surrounded myself with other Mormon friends all my life and as a result my religion has almost never been challenged. However, one week during the summer of my senior year in high school I had the opportunity to work. During that job I was taken away from my family for weeks at a time. With no structured schedule and working with a lot of nonmormons it was easy for me to slack off. I knew that I would be serving a two year mission soon and I was questioning if I really had a testimony. One day, I was reading in the Book of Mormon and the strongest feeling came over me. I knew I had to pray to ask in faith "if these things are true". I had done this before but I knew I needed to try again. I prayed for a testimony of my own, I prayed for comfort and for peace and immediately I recieved that answer. All of my worries fled, my mind was calmed, I had a positive outlook and received strenght. Its a feeling I can't fully describe no matter how hard I try. I know it was a true response from Heavenly Father. He lives, he answered my prayer, he showed me the way.

How I live my faith

From my experience I had to find out for myself that this is true has led me to a realization. Everything in this church is 100% true. Its not just an idea that brings out the best in people. Its THE actual church of Jesus Christ guided by our Heavenly Father. With this in mind I realize exactly what this all means. I am determined to live the Gospel to the fullest. I go to church every Sunday. I read from the Book of Mormon daily. I say my prayers daily. I hope to be a good example for my family and friends. I served 2 year mission in Anaheim California speaking Spanish. I love serving in this Gospel and "Living my faith."
