Hi I'm David

I love soccer. I enjoy learning and attending school. I love being with my family. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im currently studying at Brigham Young University. I am majoring in Civil Engineering. I got home from a mission in Eugene Oregon about a year ago. I am huge into soccer. I played all through high school, and enjoy kicking it around now. I love being outside, away from the hustle and bustle of life, usually on top of a mountain. I enjoy camping, hiking, biking, wake boarding, fishing and skiing. I especially love being in the snow. On top of all that i dedicate a lot of my time to education. Learning is a passion of mine. I am studying to be a Civil Engineer, and enjoy the math that comes a long with it. I also spend my time playing, listening to, and writing music. From country to rock and roll, I love all different types of music. I play the piano and the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I am a Mormon is because I have come to know, through the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true. I have had many experiences throughout my life that has confirmed and testified to me that this is the path that I should take, and more importantly that this is true. I also love being a mormon because there is a fellowship that keeps each of the members watched over and taken care of. As I have spent the last few months serving a mission it really has helped build my faith. It has been a trying time, but it has been the most rewarding. I have been able to see peoples lives changed forever and them come closer to the Lord. It really has been a strength to my testimony of the gospel that it truly can change lives and its for the better. When I was younger I had to undergo major surgery on my sternum for a birth defect. It was a pretty harsh surgery that really was quite painful. One of the nights in the hospital following my surgery I was in a lot of pain, and know that I wouldn't be able to rest I began calling for my dad. My mom knew that I wanted a Priesthood blessing. Some of the hospital workers were members and held the Priesthood and were able to give me that. Right after the blessing i feel asleep and was able to stay asleep the rest of the night and the nights following. I knew that the Priesthood was real. That ultimately started me down the path that I am on. I have a testimony of the Church, that it is true. I know that the Priesthood of God resides in the Church. I love it and continue to gain a stronger and stronger testimony, and invite everyone to come and join us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures daily, and by attending my church meetings each week. By obeying the principles that are taught by the scriptures. Striving to be like the Savior, Jesus Christ, and following His example in my daily life. I think that the greatest way that I live my faith is be looking for opportunities to serve those around me.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are so important to the Church because the are central to God's plan of happiness. Our whole existence here on earth and the life after can be with our families. Through the Priesthood of God families can be united together for eternity. I love the fact that i can be with my family for ever, and not just until the end of our lives here on this earth. Knowing that, Mormons value their families highly and try to build relationships and friendships that are going to last. Caring about one another, learning from each other and being able to spend quality time together helps prepare us for eternity. I love my family, they are my best friends. I wouldn't want to spend for ever with out them. Show more Show less
