Hi I'm Candice

I am an Ironman, a mother, an eternal wife and a friend. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I feel that I am a convert to the church because I was lost from the church for over 20 years. My daughter brought the missionaries to our home in November 2011. That has changed our future and our home. I am employed at Colwell Banker handling all of the Property Management. I have been doing that for the last 10 years to support my family. I am a hard worker and strive to create win win situations. I work hard so that I can come home and do the most important role I have and that is to be a mother. Being a mom is my greatest challenge joy. I came back to the church because I knew I wanted to help my children with the challenges that they are facing in life as young adults. The gospel has helped me be a better mother and has given our family direction that we needed to live happy healthy lives. I have completed an Ironman in St. George Utah in 2010 and understand the importance of a balanced healthy life style. I feel the church was a missing piece in our home for a long time and has given us the peace I needed and my children needed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a fighter for righteousness and a survivor of darkness! I know that I am a daughter of God and that I have a special purpose here on this earth. I was born and raised in the church but fell away and began a long dark journey of wrong decisions. Then the Lord humbled me and brought me to my knees in 2010 and this is where I learned to pray. I prayed for guidance and peace. Through these prayers we received the miracle of the Sister Missionaries! My daughter turned our lives around by choosing to be baptized. She has been a special part of my conversion. Together we have laughed, cried and grown. Our first lesson was on prayer and this was tender mercy from my Savior letting me know that he knew where I was and he helping us overcome the pain in our lives and to release us from bondage. My life has changed completely and our family has become eternal. In the last 3 years I have learned the enabling power of the Atonement and the strength it gives us to overcome the things of the world. Without this power I would not have been able to quit drinking or move past the punishing thoughts that kept me bound to an un-healthy lifestyle. The Savior tenderly encouraged me to keep moving on the straight and narrow path. On this path back to my Savior I found my eternal companion and the man of my dreams! I feel so lucky to have the word of God which is our scriptures and the feelings we have when we read, ponder and thirst for the knowledge found in them. I know that he has given us the tools we need to make it back home. I know our prophets lead and guide us through our daily decisions. And the more that we involve these things in our daily lives the more power we have to overcome the advisory. The advisory is real and wants us to be lead in darkness. I know true darkness and I know the light of Christ. One of our greatest gifts from the Lord is our agency and I want take advantage of this agency to seek knowledge of light and work to obtain the attributes of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by learning of our Savior and His teachings so that I can be more like Him. By learning of Him and the power of the Atonement I have been able to quit drinking after 23 years of this addition crippling my life. I have seen the changes in my life by living the gospel and following the teachings. I have peace in my life like I have never had before. I am now serving as the Relief Society President in our ward and I feel this has been such a blessing because I am able to share my story that helps others see the change that can be made when you embrace the gospel.
