Hi I'm Edna

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mother of nine children and grandmother of 34.

About Me

I am a convert to the Church. My husband and I are getting ready to serve our second mission for the Church. I was born and raised in the southeast part of Kentucky. My father worked in the coal mines for 43 years. I came from a family of nine children.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it's true! When I was growing up I went to five different christian churches, but never did feel at peace. I would keep running into the Elders, but I didn't want anything to do with them. I had heard many stores about those "Mormons." My older brother joined the Church and encouraged me to meet with the Elders and I did. I became a member December 23 at the age of 19 many years ago. When I came up out of the water in the baptismal font I felt the peace, joy and happiness I was looking for. The Lord has blessed my husband and I throughout our life, and as we have raised our family. I have served in many positions in the Church and loved every minute. If you are looking for that peace, go to the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

In April, 1976 I was diagnosed with a deadly and very rare form of cancer. The life expectance was very short. Just hours before the operation to remove the tumor, test showed that I was a month pregnant which complicated the operation and the radiation treatment that followed. After many hours meeting with my doctors and a very special priesthood blessing by my husband "I am here today" and very healthy...no signs of any cancer. I know that the Lord lives and helps us in times of need. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who loves his children and for blessing me.
