Hi I'm Emily Pitts

I'm from the small town of Ely Nevada. I want to help others to find joy and happiness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student. I love to learn and grow. I am studying to become a marriage and family therapist one day. I am interested in the complex interactions and relationships within families and enjoy studying how to help families through difficulties. I love dance, soccer, reading, and art. I enjoy talking to people and getting to know their different backgrounds and stories. Soon I will be serving as a full time missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young I remember feeling all alone at a particularly difficult time in my life. I was sitting outside watching the sun go down and I prayed and asked God if He really did live and if He loved me. I knew at that moment that He truly did. I am a Mormon because I know that God lives, that His son Jesus Christ lives, and that by living their teachings I will find true joy. I continue to strive to live the gospel the best that I can because I love the Lord. I want my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ to know that they can count on me and that I am their friend. I am a Mormon because I want to look into the eyes of God one day and say I served Him, loved Him, and followed Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others, trying to show kindness, and doing my best to become better every day. I teach other college age women and organize events for us all to get together. I am a visiting teacher where I spend time with young women who are struggling and offer them friendship and love, and also share in their joys and congratulate them on their successes. Soon I will be living my faith my serving a full time mission and teaching others about my faith.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Emily Pitts
You can know that it is true for yourself by asking God. He loves you and wants to answer your sincere questions. If you will study the teachings of the scriptures and pray to Heavenly Father and ask Him if it is true He will answer you and you will feel it in your heart. The Book of Mormon promises that if we will read it and study the teachings found in the Book and then ask God if they are true He will answer us (Moroni 10: 3-5). Show more Show less
