Hi I'm Christopher Despain

I am from the thriving metropolis of Blackfoot, Idaho, I am a Pittsburgh Missionary, I love the outdoors, and i am a Mormon.

About Me

I was blessed to be born into an LDS family, and have been active in the church for as long as i can remember thanks to my parents always setting the example and making it a priority to be a strong and willing member of the church. I enjoy so many things but mostly outside. Hunting, fishing, golfing and snowboarding are my passions. I absolutely enjoy hanging out with my friends and having a good time with them, I recently finished a semester of college at BYUI and it was the best experience of my life. I have been called to serve in the Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh mission and am so very excited and enthusiastic to serve my Heavenly Father!

Why I am a Mormon

Oh, the reason why I am Mormon. A lot like others I was born into the church and grew up in it. But after high school ended I found myself not as happy as I wanted to be. Now looking back I realize I may have been going to church, but I wasnt doing what the church said to do to be happy! Like praying, serving, reading the scriptures, listening to good music. I had a moment when I questioned my beliefs and all I had been taught and began to doubt whether or not I could do any of the things that I knew would make happy. So I began to pray for the first time, like actually pray and try to talk to God, and more importantly try to listen. My prayers were answered and my faith began to grow. Eventually I began to live the gospel and make it a part of my life other than just my Sunday. I now realize how much God loved me. He helped me all along the way and helped me recognize what I needed to do to be happy. Slowly but surely my testimony has been built and now, I have recieved a witness that Jesus Christ is my savior and that He lives, and that the Book of Mormon is true! And I have witnessed the reality of the Prophet Joseph Smiths Promise that," a man will get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book." I know Heavenly Father Loves me and I know he loves YOU!

How I live my faith

I live my faith be keeping gaining a relationship with my Heavenly Father, I do that by attending my meetings, reading the scriptures, saying my prayers, helping those in need and striving to be a servant to my Heavenly Father. I always let people understand that I am a Mormon and that I am open to talking about it. I enjoy home teaching and have made so many friendships and memories by doing that. it has been a great blessing in my life to be able to do that for others. I think the biggest thing I can do in my life to live my faith is always act according to the gospel. I always try to understand that others are watching and God is watching me and hoping and trusting that I will do that what I am supposed to do. so many times in my life i have had experiences with others because i have set a standard for myself by simply proving what I do and do not stand for and I try to never forget that. It is very important to look for people that might need my help, so I am always looking for that. in the end, I think what i'm trying to do is take Christ's love with me wherever i go and let people feel that from me.
