Hi I'm Caleb Swift

I grew up in Puyallup WA. I love the rain, I love tennis, I'm going to school for mechanical engineering, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lived in Puyallup Washington until I was 18. I grew up with 3 older sisters and 4 older brothers. So I'm the youngest of 8 children. Luckily, for my parents. there was really never more than 5 of us kids in the house at a time. For the most part only 3 or 4. I work hard in school and scouts. I was able to become a Eagle Scout. Also at my high school they had a program called running start. Which is where I went to a college in 11 and 12 grade and was able to get both high school and college created. So I was able to graduate high school with an associates degree. I then moved to Idaho, to go to school at BYUI (Brigham Young University Idaho). I took a semester of mechanical engineering. I had a great time I meet a lot of people and made a lot of good friends. It was while I was going to BYUI that I decided and knew that I was meant to go on a mission. I am now on my mission in the Phoenix Arizona mission,. I love serving as a missionary, and I love to meet new people and watch peoples happiness grow as they come closer to Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but that is not why I'm part of this church. I'm part of this church because I know that its the true church on earth today. I know that we have a prophet here on earth today and that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know that if you read the Book of Mormon and pray about it sincerely that you will get an answer wither right away or later an answer will come and that if you do join the church no matter how happy you are you will find that your happiness can always grow. But one of the greatest reasons I am part of this church is because I love Jesus Christ and God, and through this church I have become closer to them, more than I would have in any other church and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in two ways. The first is that I never stop trying to learn about Jesus Christ and his life. One way that helps me learn about him is doing the things that he asks all of us to do. I do these thing knowing that they will help me come closer to Christ and help me build my relationship with him. The second way that I live my faith is I share it. I love to talk to people about what I believe in and how my belief has brought my great joy in my life. It is because of this belief that I have that I am currently on a mission, so that I can share my belief even more with people. I left home in Jan. 2013 and it has great being out in the mission. Even though it always so hot down here, I love it and will never regret having gone on a mission, because I know that it is what Christ wanted me to do.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Caleb Swift
Jesus Himself showed us that we all need to be baptized, when he was baptized by John the Baptist. With out baptism it is not possible to live with God and Jesus Christ again. We do baptism for the dead so that every one can have the opportunity to live with Jesus Christ and God again. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Caleb Swift
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is used a long with the Bible to help us know of Gods will for us. Through the power of God the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith. While the Bible tells us of peoples interactions with God in ancient times in Jerusalem and areas around Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon tells us of peoples interactions with God in ancient times in the America's. The Book of Mormon can help us understand the confusion that can come from the Bible and it's many different interpretations. Show more Show less
