Hi I'm Dan Brower

I was born and raised in Washington state. I will be serving a mission to Maceio, Brazil soon. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently a 19 year old high school graduate and college graduate. I had the opportunity to earn my associates degree while i was in my last two years of high school. I have always been an athlete. Since my third grade year I have been wrestling and participating in other sports. Wrestling has been a favorite sport and hobby for me for 10 years straight. Other current hobbies of mine are fishing, weight training, acting, shooting, and reading. I am an eagle scout and someday I plan to be an officer in the U.S. Army.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church, but there comes a time when everyone has to make their own decision on religion. My time for decision came during my senior year of high school. While all my friends were anticipating different colleges and careers, I had to decide if I really wanted to serve a mission, or if I wanted to put church aside and pursue a career of my choice. The answer didn't come to me in any amazing way. I just decided that serving a mission would be the best thing for me to grow up spiritually and maturity-wise. As I have been aggressively preparing to go, I have slowly been growing a testimony of the gospel. The church has done so much for me throughout my entire life, i feel it would be wrong of me not to give back. I want to give other people the chance to have the same faith and blessings that I have been given. I am a Mormon because I know that there is modern day revelation, and I know that the book of mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and God. The God I believe in wouldn't stop giving new revelation to his children 2000 years ago. He has given us a prophet today that I believe has been called of God to lead his people. I am a Mormon because I want to follow God and his teachings.

How I live my faith

Since I was born I have been going to church on sunday, participating in family home evening, and going to youth and scout activities. Even today l try to make it to as many church activities as possible. I have served in many leadership positions as i grew up in the church and priesthood. I am able to keep the commandments given to me by simply standing firm around my friends. The majority of my friends are non-mormon and at times it has been difficult to be good. I have found that by simply telling them what I stand for without being pushy has been very successful. Some of the crudest, roughest wrestling friends I have that are now U.S. Marines will tell people that mormons are awesome, simply because I was honest with them about my faith.
