Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I love being outdoors and enjoy music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love running. Last summer I ran my first marathon and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Being active and spending time in the outdoors is important to me. Some of the happiest memories I've made have come from experiences and adventures I've had in the wilderness. I just finished my first semester of college at BYU-Idaho. I'm pursuing a mechanical engineering degree there. I hope someday to go into bio-medical engineering. This is a field that really interests me. My dream is to be on a research team that helps come out with the next big medical breakthrough. I also really love music. I've played piano since I was 8 years old. The piano is a way for me to express my feelings and somewhere to go when I need to relieve some stress. I've also come to love singing. Throughout high school I sang in choir and left with great memories and experiences. I believe music is a powerful motivator.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living my faith is what makes me happy. I've experienced enough in life to know that I am the happiest when I follow the teachings of Christ. Life is still hard and the trials and troubles of life still come, but being able to have my faith that I am anchored in helps me to push through the tougher times.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to serve others around me. I am a Mormon and very much a Christian. I try to be a good example of Christ and to help people of other faiths understand we believe many of the same things. I'm preparing to leave on a church mission soon to South Korea. I'm very excited for this oppurtunity I have. I'll be able to share my faith with the people of Korea and to teach them of Christ. For two years I get the chance to dedicate all of my time to serving people and to Christ.
