Hi I'm Alex Land

California girl. I love to run and I love the sun. Serving in the Sweden Stockholm Mission.

About Me

I am currently living in Sweden. Why? Because I am preaching that good word of God. I'm a big believer in asking questions and looking for answers. Knowledge is something I value, and so the learning process is dear to my heart. Exercising is my drug, but I have a soft spot for losvikt godis. Sorry. I love soccer, I love planning events and parties. I love trains, hiking and the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into the church, for that I will forever be grateful. My conversion, however, has been a lifetime accomplishment. I've never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel, but it's always been important for me to know that I know the gospel is true on my own accord and not because my parents or leaders have told me so. The best way to discover if the Church is true is to test it out. I've never been disappointed when I've put a standard or commandment to the test, never. I have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. His atonement makes everything possible. The Savior's atonement makes it possible for me to repent of my sins and be worthy of blessings. The atonement makes it possible for me to find comfort when I'm sad or lonely or hurt and find direction when I am lost or confused. Christ is my advocate with the Father and it is in his name that I call upon God in prayer. Heavenly Father is my best friend, He knows everything and has my best interest at heart. I am his daughter and I want nothing more than to return to live with Him once more. I'm a Mormon because it is through the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints that the way back to the Father is possible. Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet who guides the church today, God still speaks to his children. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ. Read the book with true intent and it's truthfulness will be made known unto you, I promise. I'm Mormon because my faith brings peace to my life; peace is one of the greatest gifts the Father can give His children.

How I live my faith

As a small child in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints you are taught the basics: go to church, pray, read your scriptures, be nice, and work hard. To be perfectly honest, my philosophy about living has not changed drastically. I read my scriptures to learn the gospel, feel the spirit, and become a better person. I pray and communicate with my Heavenly Father; I give thanks, tell Him everything, and ask for forgiveness. I go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament. As a young adult I participate in group activities such as institute and dances. I am grateful for the programs of the church. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not restricted by culture or language. Anyone can live righteously, or at least do their best to try. I live my faith as I try to be a good person and live standards the church has set.
