Hi I'm Erin Miles

I love to create delicious food, I am passionate about health and nutrition, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am studying Dietetics and plan to receive a minor in Business Management. I love learning, especially about things pertaining to the human body. I come from a family of five children and spent most of my childhood in the beautiful state of Washington. I love all kinds of sports and exercise, but I particularly enjoy running and weight training. I love to cook and bake all kinds of food and I dream of opening my own restaurant someday. Traveling, attending musical productions, and eating are some of my favorite things to do with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because when I live the doctrines and truths taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I am happy! Those doctrines and truths have provided to me the knowledge of where I came from, why I am here on this earth right now, and where I will go after death. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he sent His son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins so that we can repent and return to live in His presence after life here on earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and is companion to the Bible, which is also the word of God. When I read the Book of Mormon I feel peace, comfort, and great joy. I know that God still speaks to His children today, as he did in Bible times, through His chosen prophet. That prophet is Thomas. S. Monson. I can say that I know these things to be true because I have prayed and asked God for a witness that they are indeed true. Through the Holy Ghost, I have received confirmation that these things are true. That is why I continue to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. Because it is true and because it makes me so, so happy!

How I live my faith

Recently, the president and prophet of our church, President Thomas S. Monson, announced a younger age of missionary service for young adults. Young men who used to be able to serve at age 19, can now serve at age 18. Young women who used to be able to serve at age 21, can now serve at age 19. While this announcement didn't change my circumstances as I am already 21, I still have the marvelous opportunity of feeling the full impact of this exciting new announcement that has resulted in hundreds more young adults eager to participate in missionary service for our church. I have been called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I have been assigned to serve in the Brazil Fortaleza mission. I leave in March 2013 and will be serving there for a period of 18 months.
