Hi I'm Kristal

I grew up in UT. I still live in UT but a different town. I am a wife 1st, mom 2nd, & everything else 3rd. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be at home for my kids. I have a married daughter. I have a son who is on a mission in the McAllen Texas Mission. I have 2 teenagers in high school and my baby is in 7th grade. He hates being called the "baby". ;) We spend a lot of time watching our children participate in sports but limit it to football (1 hs, 1 rec) and basketball. They are not all involved in everything. It is a choice that we made to not be SUPER crazy with our time. It is wonderful to be able to get together with our daughter and her husband! It is so fun!!!! I do substitute teach occasionally at the schools in town. I try to always be at home for my kids on game days, when they have parent/teacher conf. or whenever they need me etc. I try to put my family first! I am continuing to learn sign language. I have a friend who is deaf and I try to go to her house every Sunday to learn her language and communicate with her. It is very rewarding! I am a slow learner but getting better. I had a great opportunity to work as a nanny back East when I was 19, for a summer. It was here, I learned that people are interested in my religion. I wasn't good at answering those religion questions then but could answer them now.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the peace that living the things that are taught in this religion gives me. I have experienced many blessings to myself and my family that allow me to believe these things are true. I have a deep faith in this religion and always have. I was a trying teenager and even knew then that I needed to continue to say my prayers before I went to bed. Praying is a HUGE important part of me. I know that my prayers are heard and answered, maybe not how I would have guessed them to be but none-the-less I KNOW they are answered. I know that God loves me specifically and is aware of my needs and the things I need to improve on to be a better child of God. I know that Jesus died so we can ALL live with Heavenly Father again but we have to do the right things and be good people. I know Jesus suffered all the pains of this world. I am in awe of Him and this task. He loves each of us so much! I believe we will all be resurrected and have an opportunity to live with Heavenly Father. I believe that there was a time that Christ's church was not available on the earth. I believe that a young boy at the age of 14, had enough faith to ask and receive direction from Heavenly Father and Jesus to bring Christ's church back to the earth. I believe that the fullness of the priesthood is available and blesses lives throughout the world. I believe in the words of the scriptures, including but not limited to the Book of Mormon. I believe in a living prophet who helps us be be better in this crazy, scary world. Again, I believe in the peace that being a Mormon brings. I believe in the power that comes from being a missionary's family. I have seen my son grow from a young man to a man. He has had some amazing experiences; spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I know he is where he can help others to find eternal happiness. Yes, there is ETERNAL happiness. What a wonderful word. We learn about it and live for the Eternities with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love to go to church. I feel peace and happiness there. As I go more, I feel the things I need to change in my life to become closer to Heavenly Father/God and Jesus/Christ/Lord. I have read the Book of Mormon many, many times (with our children in the mornings before school and by myself). In fact, I just finished reading it at the end of November. I have also read the Bible 4 times. The Bible is a little more difficult to understand but as I read it more, I will understand it more. I feel so good when I read from the scriptures and love learning from and with them. I go and visit 2 women in our church. My deaf friend goes with me. We try to visit them in their home once a month. They are sometimes busy and I visit with them over the phone or by text/email. We like to make sure all is well in their homes. My deaf friend hates the phone because it is all type written for her by someone else and is confusing at times.. I also am involved in PTSO in the high school. I have been involved for 9 years. It is a great organization that is there to serve and help the teachers, staff and students. I am currently under the Teacher Appreciation area.I work with some wonderful people in this organization. I try to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost in all that I do and act in those promptings. I want to be who He needs me to be. I want to serve others as He needs me to.
