Hi I'm Linda

I live in New England. I love helping people using my love of life, music, flowers, and genealogy.

About Me

As a child, my mother taught me to pray and to love the beautiful things in this world; my father made sure we had fun and work. My brothers and sisters carry on this legacy of learning and love in their families. Now, I am the mother of nine and have twenty-four grandchildren. I love our large family and my children love their families. Family History is my favorite passtime. I am thrifty; I recycle everything. I garden and preserve the extra produce. Sometimes I bake bread and I love making breakfast foods. I work at a school helping in Special Education. My work brings me opportunities to help students learn vocational skills. My flower arranging talent lets me give cheer and comfort. Playing the violin has given me many opportunities like traveling. Best of all, music helps me share the feelings of my heart. I used to be a Den Leader in Cub Scouts. I can chip arrowheads. I am studying the Polish language a little. I love freedom and those who have made and preserved it. I pledge the allegiance to the flag with hope and sincerity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not a Mormon because all my great-great grandparents crossed the plains with the pioneers. I am a Mormon because truth has been my treasure all my life and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as restored to the earth by the prophet Joseph Smith, is true. The example and teachings of my ancestors has been a great boon to me, much like the life of the Savior is a perfect example to all who follow Him. Many of my ancestors suffered much and found joy through it all. Christ suffered all and found joy in being our Savior. The Spirit witnesses to me that I must follow these great examples and love others as I have been loved. Living the principles of the Gospel makes me happy. Truth is always a safe place to be; it just works. The Book of Mormon is true. I have read it many times. I know the Book of Mormon is the Word of God! I have experienced the power of its teachings in my life. Truth never changes and the Spirit never lies. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He saw God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Christ. When I follow Him, I am the happiest.

How I live my faith

The gospel is my life. Everything has purpose to me because I know that Jesus meant what he said when he said, "In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these...ye have done it unto me." I take my friend to church. She cannot drive because her leg will not bend. She blesses me by letting me serve her a little. When I am struggling with the challenges of life, I find solace in the scriptures. My journal helps me remember the many times God has been there for me. I have learned that service works in circles. I help someone and God or one of his servents comes to rescue me. I have taught the gospel to seven/eight year olds for many years. I would have stayed there forever, but I was called by inspiration to be the compassinate service leader and since I trust the Lord in his plan, I am comforted to leave those special youth and grow in another capacity.
