Hi I'm Christian Hansen

I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm currently on a two year mission for my church in Sweden. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City Utah enjoying swimming, hiking, rugby, skiing, and much much more. I have always loved the outdoors. Some of my fondest childhood memories are going up to the nearby mountains to ski or going to the nearby lakes with friends and family to go boating. There's nothing like waking up the morning after a blizzard and hitting the powder dusted slopes of Salt Lake. I love my family. I have been extremely fortunate to grow up with two brothers, a sister, and parents that have been such a strength to me. Much of who I am today and all that I have accomplished is all thanks to them and their great examples to me. Currently I have put my collegiate studies on hold as I serve a 2 year mission for my church. Once I get home I plan on beginning my studies again, working towards a bachelors degree in finance, and then on to an MBA (Master of Business Administration).

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I went to church nearly every Sunday with my family, but I am not sure if I could say that I knew the Church was true. About halfway through my senior year in high school I began to apply for different colleges and life suddenly began getting real. I would say that this was a lower point in my life. I didn't really have a sense of direction, I wasn't a super strong member of the Church, and I felt like something was missing. Fortunately I had a friend that took the time to sit with me and tell me how much the Gospel had changed their life. They shared some experiences with me and told me about how much it had helped them through the hardest times in their life. It was something so simple, but after my friend told me these things I felt something different inside me. I knew what was missing and I knew that I needed to find it. After that I decided that I was going to find out for myself whether or not the Church was true. I began reading the Book of Mormon, which I had never before read. I read it, little by little each day, and as I did so I asked God to let me know if what I was reading was true. As I did this a gradually began to see a change in myself. My life got much better. My relationships with friends and family members improved. Suddenly I had a sense of direction in my life. I began to feel real, true, happiness. A light that had been long since been put out had been relit.

How I live my faith

A little over a year ago I received my mission call to serve in the Stockholm Sweden mission. In January 2013 I embarked on this life changing adventure. Serving this mission has been such an incredible opportunity. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is something that has brought me so much joy in my life and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to go around 24/7 inviting people to learn about it.
