Hi I'm shane bennee

I was raised in Canada. I am a field engineer, and I work for Abbott Laboratories. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, and a MBA. I love field service and helping resolve technical issues on various blood analyzers. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking. I also enjoy doing an occasional Triathlon when I can find time to train. I am a proud father of 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy). I love to travel and see the world. I love Science and Math especially Physics and Astronomy. I recognize the hand of God in all the beautiful creations of this magnificent Universe.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the standards and values that help guide me throughout my mortal life. Most importantly, my knowledge and understandings of Eternal doctrines give me purpose for living and help me be a better husband, father and citizen in my community. Whenever I gaze at the stars and learn more about the Universe, I realize that all of the laws of modern Physics to explain its origin are unclear and difficult to understand. The Universe is governed by laws and forces that can only be explained by some Dark Matter or Energy as described by modern physicists. I understand that as a mere mortal human being, the complexity of creation is far beyond human comprehension. I bear my testimony that all life, order, and creation in the Universe is governed by a loving and eternal Father in Heaven. He wishes that we, His children, will come to this earth and gain a body. Then we will live our lives in such a way as to prepare ourselves to return back to His presence and partake of Eternal Life. This beautiful doctrine along with so many other true principles are taught in the Mormon church!

How I live my faith

Although I am fallible in so many ways, I recognize God's hand in my life, and I strive to excel in all that I do and say. I recognize that Christ's atonement can wash away my guilt from past wrongdoings. That fact brings happiness to my life and a realization that I may one day be completely clean from sin and guilt. The gospel is a guide for me and my life, and I constantly strive to please my Savior through my actions and dealings with my fellowmen.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

In my many travels around the world for work purposes, it astounds me to see the influence of the Mormon Church in so many different countries. The temples that populate the various countries have a profound influence on the local communities for good. Many of the local children in Peru wonder why they can't play soccer on the fields outside the temple. After a simple explanation that we treat temple grounds as a sacred place, they quickly understand to some extent the purpose of the temple and the good influence it can have on their neighborhood. The humanity efforts and donations provided to those in need around the world also has a profound affect on those seeking refuge from the world around them. So many of them recognize the hand of God in providing for their needs in very difficult circumstances. Show more Show less
