Hi I'm Kelsie

I'm a psych major. I love reading and writing. I love my family. I love meeting new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to school to finish my bachelor's degree in psychology. I'm a bit of a nerd. I love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Marvel movies, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Merlin, Hunger Games, and more. I love meeting people and making new friends. The things that make me happiest in life are a good book, a big hug, and a slice of cheesecake. After my mission, I want to get a master's degree in social work and help work with children, adolescents, and their families. I love reading books and writing just about anything, from letters to poems to short stories. I love being warm and have a hard time with snow. I want to travel the world with my sweetheart when we both come back from our missions. I love my family more than anything in the entire world, and I can hardly wait until I can start my own family someday soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and have been a member my whole life, but I didn't always take it very seriously as a teenager. I became apathetic about my commitments, made poor choices with regards to who my friends were in high school, and made a string of very poor decisions. By the time I came back to my senses, I felt as if I had fallen too far, reached the point of no return. But as I allowed myself to be forgiven, to forgive myself, and to accept the blessings of Christ's Atonement in my life once more, I was able to feel that Spirit in my life again, and it changed everything. I never quite understood how much I had lost until I got it back again. Through my own trials and difficulties (of which there have been no shortage), I have gained a testimony of this gospel and of how much the Lord loves me. I have a special testimony of the power of prayer, the miracle of repentance, and the unfathomable and infinite blessings of the Atonement. I love my Savior with all my heart. This gospel and my Savior have been the source of every blessing in my life. There are not words to express the gratitude I feel towards my priesthood leaders, my family, and my Redeemer for never once giving up on me, no matter what happened, and for always being there to lift me up and welcome me back with open arms.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving those around me and helping them out in anyway I can. There are few things that brighten my day more than bringing a smile to the faces of the people around me. I love finding out more about the gospel and studying the scriptures and gaining as much knowledge as I possibly can. I have held several leadership positions in my young women's group growing up, and I've used that experience to help know how to lift others up and help them reach their full potential, as well as make their lives better and their burdens lighter.
