Hi I'm Sister Nicole Hiatt

A Texan with a call to serve as a missionary to the Washington Everett Mission. I love to bake and sing in hairbrush microphones.

About Me

Hey y'all. I am Nicole. I am a BYU-Idaho student from Houston, Texas. I am studying Communications and design. I love music, art, kids, and helping people. I was born into the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have wanted to serve a mission since the age changed in 2012. I have been waiting since then to turn 19. I have recently accepted my call to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I absolutley love everything about Washington and the people, but my favorite part about serving a mission is getting work so closely with the Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ, and my Heavenly Father. Everyday, I meet people who need to feel the love of Christ and helping them to accept that love makes me smile like none other.

Why I am a Mormon

In a world, where being a Mormon isn't always easy, I continue to be true to the faith because I have a testimony. I have had personal experiences that make it clear to me that God is my loving heavenly father and that he blesses me through families, prophets, and personal revelation. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, died to take away my sins as well as yours. I have felt him relieve my pains, my hardships, and my sufferings through the atonement. I know that I am loved by my father in heaven. I am his daughter and he will help me. I have felt the spirit and I know that the gospel is true. I have personally worked for and gained a testimony of my own. This is what gives me the strength to be a Mormon and stand for truth. Being a Mormon provides me with a support system of brothers and sisters who are on this crazy ride called life with me, but are trying to be better, to stand taller, and help others. I go to church because it strengthens me and my faith. I strive to help my fellow members to be faithful to their covenants and serve God so that we can all be better servants of our Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by standing as an example of Christ. I strive to exemplify Christ in all of my actions, of course I fail at times because I am human. I have a testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, my Savior. His atonement enables me to be repent and become a better person. I live my faith through being the best person I can be. I am serving a mission for the church. I strive to serve others with all my heart, might, mind, and strength just as my Savior would do if he were here. I know that when I serve others, I serve God and that is what motivates me to help others.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Sister Nicole Hiatt
No. Young men are strongly encouraged to serve missions after high school for two years. With that said, Members are free to choose whether or not they choose a mission. Young Women are offered the same experience. They can serve for 18 months at the age of 19. Mormons choose to go on missions because they want to share the knowledge of the gospel with everyone around them, As our understanding of the atonement grows so does our desire to share the atonement with everyone around us. Also our religion teaches that families can be together forever. Missionaries desire to share the joy of eternal families. One of my favorite quotes defines a missionary as someone who "gives up their family for two years so that others can be with their families for eternity." Personally, I am preparing to serve a mission for 18 months. I am doing this because I want to share the joy and peace I have with everyone I meet. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have developed a love for everyone I meet because I know that we are all the sons and daughters of God. I want to help others acknowledge and see the divine potential and nature inside of themselves. In addition, I feel that by serving a mission I will be more prepared for marriage, motherhood, and leading my friend to Christ and the atonement. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Sister Nicole Hiatt
God is AMAZING!!!! God is our Father in Heaven. He has a perfect body of flesh and bone. We were made by him and in his own image. He loves us, he wants the best for us. He wants us to be happy. He wants us to follow him and his son, our brother, Christ. Show more Show less
