Hi I'm Abby

I'm a writer. I'm a piano player. I love to laugh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest in a family of 4 children. I have amazing parents, an adorable brother, and two outstanding sisters. I have played the piano since I was six years old, I like to rock climb, and am in the very long process of writing a book. I am on my city's Youth Council. I like being outside, especially in autumn, and just writing down everything that comes to my mind. I like to swim, ride my bike, and run, but only when no one forces me to. I have a lot of amazing friends that are as crazy as I am. And I like chocolate. I really like chocolate.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. I never thought much about it when I was younger. I just kept going to church and reading my scriptures because my parents did and told me it was a good thing to do. I got baptized when I was 8, like many other members. When I turned 12 and started going to junior high school, I realized that there were a lot of other people in a lot of other different religions. It became harder to keep the standards I had created for myself, but my friends and family helped me stay strong. I began reading my scriptures and saying my own prayers every night, and I would pray about problems that I had in my life. I began to realize blessings that I had in my life and the joy I had when I kept my standards. After I recognized those feelings, I never looked back. I love this church, and everything about it. I know that it is true, and I am so grateful for that knowledge that I have.

How I live my faith

I am in the Young Women's program in my ward. I participate in church meetings every Sunday and go to the Youth's Mutual every week where we do fun activities and learn more about the gospel. As I mentioned before, I have a lot of great friends that live their standards and are great examples for me to look up to. I enjoy going to Girl's Camp every year with the girls in my ward because we get to have fun learning about ourselves, others, and our church. We also stay up a little bit later than we should talking to each other, but that's what makes it even more fun.
