Hi I'm Jay

I grew up in Utah. I am studying computer science at BYU. I am going to be serving a mission in Uruguay. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old. I am studying computer science at BYU, but I am taking a break to serve a 2-year mission. My hobbies include racquetball, piano, singing, and reading. I played racquetball competitively in high school and was one of the top 5 high school players in Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

The biggest reason I am a Mormon is the happiness the gospel brings me. The church teaches that families can be together forever--even after death--and that is important to me. I know that even though I make mistakes, I can repent and change for the better. I know I am not perfect, but as long as I am striving to do my best to follow my Heavenly Father's commandments, I am in good standing with Him. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me, and because of that, Christ atoned for the sins of all mankind. I know that the Holy Ghost is my constant companion and that he prompts me to make good decisions. More than anything, though, I know that if I follow God's commandments, I will be happy.

How I live my faith

I help organize missionary work in my ward. I've played the piano so that ward members could sing along. I've been a leader for youth my age. I'm also faithful in going hometeaching to a couple of the families in our ward.
