Hi I'm Christen Stanford

I grew up in Alberta, Canada, and some parts of the United States. I drive trucks for a living. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I finished high school, I started in college taking Pre-Pharmacy. I fell in love with learning. I loved learning another language, learning things about our bodies, and learning to inform others through writing. When I finished one year I chose to switch to the Pharmacy Technician program, because it offered the same characteristics I loved in Pharmacy, but a shorter education that would allow me to start a family and have a decent career. When I was waitlisted for that program, however, I chose wait a year and try again, and to attend driving school in the meantime. I obtained my Class 1, started hauling gravel for the oil field, and moved on to working in a shop, hauling grain trailers and dry vans. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Washington D.C South Mission, Spanish speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

First of all, I am a Mormon because I was born a Mormon. But, that is not the reason I still practice my religion. I continue to follow His gospel because I love what it has done with my life. While everything else has changed in my life, and everything else I have tried to anchor me down has been unpredictable, the gospel is one thing I can rely on to keep me happy in this life, and the one thing I can rely on to keep my happy in the life to come. It has provided me comfort knowing that I will be together with my family forever, including a sibling of mine that passed away, and knowing that there is always someone there who loves me more than I can comprehend.

How I live my faith

I used to live my faith by example at work, and through my calling in my ward. I had a calling in the children's program, and I was teaching a class of 4 year old children this gospel that I love so much. Now I live my faith by sharing it as a missionary.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Christen Stanford
Baptism is a commitment to the Lord. It is an ordinance that shows our love for him, and our willingness and desire to return to live with God again. Show more Show less
