Hi I'm Bethany Heywood

I am a small town girl. I am a certified yoga instructor. I am an Aggie through and through, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors, whether its boating, hiking, four wheeling, or skiing; I just love seeing Gods creations. I also love music. I was taught to play the piano at a young age, and I have recently picked up the guitar. I was recently certified to be a yoga teacher, it has been such a great thing to learn. And I am currently a missionary in Kentucky for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

At the young age of 8 I was baptized to be a member of this church. I come from a long background of members. Sometimes it is hard to remember why you are a member when you have grown up with it. I am a Mormon because I believe in Christ. I believe in his teachings, and I believe in having high standards. I am a Mormon because I know that through this church and Christ's Atonement our sins can be made clean. I know that there is a life after this life. A life of eternity, where we can live with our families forever. I know that we have a person who is called of God that leads and guides us today. That person is our prophet, I know that he receives revelation from God for us in our modern day. I know that The Book of Mormon is true I have read it cover to cover, and I have felt the spirit when I read it. I have also received a witness that it is true by the Holy Spirit. The Book of Mormon changes lives and it has made me a better person, and it has helped me to stay on the path of righteousness. I am a Mormon because I love knowing who I really am, what will happen to me after this life, and where I was before this life. I am a Mormon because I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by visiting other women that are in my ward. I live my faith by serving people around me. I love to show others what I am about by my standards. I keep my standards high so people will see the light of Christ in me. I, like other people in my faith have a church calling, mine for the next 18 months will be to go on a mission. I will be teaching the people of Kentucky about my faith. This calling is not like the others of the LDS faith, this calling was wholly my decision. I live my faith by teaching others about my gospel.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Bethany Heywood
We believe in another book called the Book of Mormon. Since we believe in the Book of Mormon the early disbelievers began to call the saints the Mormons and it just kind of stuck as a nickname for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
