Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I love Running. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music is a large part of my life. I'm always listening to some form of music and I love to discover new music. Running is my other passion. I love nothing better than to get outside and run for miles where it is just me and the road. Camping with my family is one of our favorite things to do. I graduated from high school last year and I am on my way to serving a mission in the Philippines.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. And having the LDS church in my life has strengthened me when faced with problems in school, helped to push me when i become lazy or unmotivated, and has helped me to make tough decisions. Scouting is also a part of church that I connected with most because of my father's large interest in camping and anything outdoor related. It also helped me to make friendships that have lasted for years, and helped me to feel loved and wanted. And that's what I love most about my church, the fact that there is always someone there looking out for you. No matter who you are, where you come from, or if you are a member or not. There is always help, and love. I know this Church is true, and I have seen miracles wrought through members every day. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is truly a living Prophet and that he guides in the right direction everyday. I'm thankful for missionaries who sacrifice their lives for this gospel. And I'm thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who through Joseph Smith restored this gospel upon the Earth so that His children may return to Him.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in my ward. Through leading and participating in service projects with my fellow young men I have helped to better know my fellow ward members and those throughout my community. By serving others I feel closer to my Savior Jesus Christ, as I strive to do unto others as he would. I'm grateful to be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and everything it teaches me pertaining to the gospel and to my everyday life.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Not all Mormons are required to serve missions. Young men are strongly encouraged at age 18 to consider to serve a mission, while young women can consider to serve a mission at age 19. But many older couples can choose to serve in service missions. We serve missions because of our love for our heavenly Father and for our love of those around us, and by sharing the gospel we can help others feel the happiness that we feel through being an LDS member.
