Hi I'm Amrie

I'm a writer. I play volleyball. I love cereal. I'm a missionary in Romania. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a girl who loves to do crazy things other people are scared to do, for the sole sake of pushing myself out of my comfort zone! I am a moccasin wearing, cheescake loving, terrible wanna-be dancer, call of duty playing, everything is a competition kind of girl. I've worn a onsie to college classes, gone skydiving, flown a plane, and love my family more than anything in the world. My heart will always be in volleyball. I played from junior high up till my second year of college. I love coaching, writing and public speaking. I am currently serving a mission in the countries of Romania and Moldova. I aspire to be a writer and motivational speaker once I return to the States.

Why I am a Mormon

I am currently on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. And the reason why is maybe not what you'd think.. I discovered a couple years ago that my life was perfectly fine. That I had many opportunities, great friends, awesome family, etc etc. But.. I didn't feel "satisfied". Or "fulfilled". When people in church would say that their faith, their church, that Christ, changed their life, I would dismiss that thought. Those were only pretty words people WANT to believe, I thought.. Since, I discovered that those words are true. It took time and effort and faith on my part, but I now know without a shadow of a doubt that this Gospel is true. And that I CAN be with my family members, even after death. I know this gospel does not just bless after we die either. I know and feel a FULL happiness! Full joy! That LIVING the Gospel, living the way Christ would have us live, is how we can feel the most happiness and hope through the good and bad times. I know that someone can easily be "perfectly fine" in this life. But why would I want to feel "fine"? This Gospel and the blessings I've recieved have made me realize how much I love others, and how they deserve to know, and feel, what I do. For that reason, I am going on a mission for the Church. I watching others make the choice, because it ultimately is a choice, to have a full joy! And to be with their own families...Forever!

How I live my faith

I strive to think not of myself, but think of others, and the hardships they might be going through. You are happiest when you forget yourself and serve others. I have organized classes for the youth of the church, from the young primary aged children, to the "Singles Ward" (group that meets for church that are ages 18-30 years of age) activities/get-togethers. I coach high school girls and, without bringing church up, try to make them see they are amazing young women, and have the potential to do whatever they set their mind to! I strive to help people see that the glass is neither hall full nor half empty, but full all the time! (half full of water and half full of air!) I am currently on a mission for a year and a half for my church.
