Hi I'm Will

I like music and stuff, I once beat the original Super Mario Bros in 7 minutes and 48 seconds, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in North Idaho. I briefly attended the University of Idaho majoring in a program called Virtual Technology and Design, a program focused on modeling and animating things on a computer. I enjoy listening to music, mainly classic rock, 90's alternative, indie rock, and modern rock. I know the entire guitar part to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (all four chords, I'm basically the next Jimi Hendrix). I enjoy a good MOBA or Mario game, and water is my favorite drink, closely followed by chocolate milk. Career wise, I really have no idea what I want to do. I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints in Iowa from February 2013 to February 2015.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know for myself, independent of anybody else, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. This book has done nothing but draw me closer to Christ. It has helped me to more fully understand what my relationship is with Jesus and all that he has done for me. This book confirms that Jesus the Christ is indeed our Savior , that he died for us, and that he now lives for us. Such a book could only have been brought about by a prophet of God, and that prophet is Joseph Smith. Jesus Christ's full Gospel was restored again on the Earth by Joseph Smith, and continues on today in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know this, and am now on a mission for Christ's church so that I can help others come unto Jesus and experience the joy that is his Gospel.

How I live my faith

When Jesus Christ was asked: "Master, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus responded: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." The Book of Mormon states that: "...charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever..." (Moroni 7:47) All the teachings of Jesus Christ were centered on love, and all his commandments are to help us develop charity for both God and our fellow man. As we strive to follow the example that Jesus has set for us we can begin to more fully understand all that he has done for us, how personal our relationship with him actually is, and how we can ultimately become so much better. In this life we are tried and tested. We will face many trials and afflictions, but if we are able to overcome them and learn from them, we can use them to expand our capacity for joy, increase our ability to love, and ultimately draw us closer to God. That is what I believe this life is about, to become something great, something with some semblance of divinity. I live my faith by following Christ and trying to abide by his teachings. I am far from perfect, but even in my failures, this understanding has brought me so much joy. In this life we are all to walk by faith, and we are all to walk with love.
