Hi I'm Schylar Tarvin

I'm from Colorado. I am a college student. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in an LDS family. I have 3 sisters and amazing parents who have all contributed to who I am today. I've been going to college at BYU-Idaho and being there brought such a great confirmation to me that this church is true. Being on my own, not being able to rely on my parents testimonies, I came to really own up to my own testimony and better prepare myself for something bigger than just me. On my way up to Rexburg, I had a few discussions on serving a mission. I always knew that I wanted to go on a mission if it was the right time for me. Little did I know that the age requirements would be lowered and I would be able to serve a mission as soon as I wanted or felt right because I was already 19. The feeling that I felt when the announcement came was overjoyous and extremely overcoming. I knew that I needed to go and I felt the warmest, comferting feeling for hours afterwords. This is only one of the experiences throughout my life that have really allowed me to come to realize that this churhch along with our standards and experiances , really and truely define me. I love this gospel so much and I cannot wait to help others come to realize the blessings that come with being a member of this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly believe in modern day revelation and the restoration of the gospel. Being a member brings a different kind of happiness. There have been many instances in my life where I have known pure joy. It's a feeling that is just can be explained as pure joy. I have come to understand the standards we are given and I have learned to love the way we live. I love the teachings of our gospel and I love being able to say that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know with every ounce of my being that this church is true. There is something different about how you feel when you walk into a church building that you don't feel anywhere else. It is undeniable. It's the same feeling that you get when you have read the Book of Mormon with good intentions to understand it and pray about it's truthfulness. You just know! I love this gospel and I know with all of my heart that this is a church that is a blessing to be a part of.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in my youth group as well as working in the nursery with kids under 3. I've seen the blessings of these callings as I've been welcomed into these callings and being able to understand and recognize the needs of others as I serve. I like to say that I live my faith because it is a defining factor in my life. We are given many standards that people may not understand 100%, but, by living the standards, I have been given the means to live healthily.
