Hi I'm Skyler

I live on a ranch with my grandparents and I love to hunt. I love music and I love movies! And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm Skyler and I absolutely LOVE hunting. Some say it's an obsession. I plan to attend Utah State University in the fall of 2015 after my full-time mission dedicated to this wonderful church. I have a lifetime goal of joining the Air Force after finishing the AFROTC program through USU. Flying interests me greatly and I hope to make it as an Air Force pilot. the fact that it's very competitive intrigues me into finding out whether I have what it takes. As of now, I live on a farm with my Grandparents. We raise beef cattle along with a few chickens and we've always got a bunch of dogs running around. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. They are wonderful people whether we get along or not. I like to think I'm clever when I'm really not at all. But oh well. That. Is. Me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and I love this church. It brings happiness into my life every single day. The members of the church are always so friendly and are always willing to help. The gospel that is taught in our faith is so uplifting. It is so great to know that there is always help to our problems and that there is a much bigger plan than just being here on earth. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has created a faith in my own life in Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. This church really stresses that to come to know Christ, it takes work. It is up to the individual to gain that knowledge that Christ is our Savior. We attain this by constant prayer and thought which leads to divine feelings that testify of truthfulness to our souls. We also believe that we can gain the knowledge of the Book of Mormon being the word of God; the knowledge that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God; and the knowledge that this church is the same church that Christ Himself established on the earth in his ministry. I have come to the knowledge of these things along with many others worldwide. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday that I can. I try my best to study the scriptures daily and pray for the Lord's divine guidance every day in my personal life. I feel like I'm always called on to speak in church meetings or given assignments to teach, but I enjoy preparing talks and lessons and learning from the studying that is put into the preparation. I have taught various classes in church. I had the special privilege to teach the 7 year old children for a number of weeks which was amazing. I will be serving a full-time mission for the church for 2 years. I am going to be serving in the Farmington, New Mexico area and I cannot wait to get out and teach others about our faith. I will be an instrument in the Lord's hands.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Mormons believe that families can be together forever. We believe that God created a plan for us to be together forever. God understands the love we feel for our family because He feels that same love for us. He understands we want to be with our families forever, even after death. We believe that Christ gave His disciples the power to seal families together forever when He said, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19) We also believe that through the Prophet Joseph Smith this sealing power was restored to the earth again so that we can be sealed together for time and all eternity in the holy temples of the Lord. We hold this practice very sacred. Show more Show less
