Hi I'm Amber

I've lived in Washington my whole life, so far. I work full time as a phlebotomist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name's Amber. I am 20 years old and I work full time as a Phlebotomist. I have my Associates in Arts and Sciences. I'm hoping to transfer to BYU in a couple of years. I love running and I love living an active lifestyle.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The concept that has really drawn me to His church is "Family". Growing up, I didn't have a family with a firm foundation in a church, or that spent time together like Mormon families do. In high school, I became best friends with a girl who was Mormon. My senior year, I accepted her invitation to church. I felt welcomed there. She continued to invite me to church and other activities. I loved it. Then, I starting dating a boy who was Mormon. I loved spending time with him and his family, doing activities, like Family Home Evenings. I was ALWAYS hoping to be invited to church. If he didn't invite me, I'd make sure I'd be invited. I saw something special in Mormons, but I didn't understand what it was until I went to college for a year and desperately missed going to activities every week. I made sure I went home every Sunday for church. At the end of college that year, I decided to be taught by the missionaries. About a week later, I decided that I wanted to be baptized.Just before my baptism, I knew I was feeling the power of the Holy Ghost when I was with members' families. I've realized that what Mormon families have that mine doesn't, is the Holy Ghost. Being a member of His church has blessed me in many ways, and I'm so grateful for my testimony of families and the Holy Ghost. My brother was baptized a month after me. I'm so thankful to have my brother as a member, too; its very special to me.

How I live my faith

I enjoy all my church-related activities throughout the week. I attend Family Home Evening with my Singles Ward on Mondays. I also go to Institute every Wednesday night to study the Book of Mormon. When I can, I will go out with the Sister Missionaries to their lessons with investigators. Finally, I'm in the process of preparing for a mission!
